Takeoff Intervals for iPhone and Apple Watch. Last updated September 9, 2026.
Takeoff Intervals has no accounts. You never sign in, and we never know who you are. This page lists everything the app sends off your phone and why.
Your workouts stay on your phone
The workouts you create are stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. We have no copy.
What leaves your phone, and where it goes
- The text or photo you ask the app to read. To turn a pasted message or a screenshot into a timer, the app sends that text or image to our server, which passes it to an AI model provider (currently Google Gemini, through OpenRouter) and returns the structured workout. Our server keeps a log of the outcome, timing, and cost of each request. It does not keep the text or the image. The model provider processes the request under its own terms and does not receive anything that identifies you.
- A random install ID. Each install gets a random identifier that is sent with those requests so we can limit how many parses one install can run in a day. It is not tied to your name, Apple ID, or device identifiers, and it resets if you reinstall.
- Anonymous usage counts. The app records coarse events such as "a parse succeeded" or "a workout was completed", with numbers like how many blocks or how many seconds. Never the workout text, exercise names, or notes. We use Firebase Analytics for this, and the data is not linked to you.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes or freezes, a report goes to Sentry so we can fix it. Reports contain technical details about the app's state, not your workouts.
What stays on the device
- Dictated workouts are transcribed on your phone by Apple's speech recognition. Only the resulting text is sent for parsing, if you ask the app to parse it.
- Coach formats the app understands without the AI model are read entirely on the phone and never sent anywhere.
- The Apple Watch app mirrors the timer over the private connection between your watch and phone.
What we don't do
No advertising identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data, no health data. The app does not read HealthKit.
Deleting your data
Delete the app. That removes every workout and the install ID. The anonymous usage counts and crash reports cannot be traced back to you, so there is nothing else to delete.
